This feature is currently only available for Klokku on app.klokku.com.

Use app.klokku.com as an app on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPad. Adding Klokku to your home screen gives you an app icon and opens Klokku in its own window without the usual browser address bar. This is a progressive web app (PWA), installed through your browser. You do not need an App Store or Google Play download.

Internet connection required

Klokku needs an internet connection to load your data and save changes. If you open the installed app while offline, it shows a reconnect screen with Retry connection. Offline changes are not queued for later synchronization.

Android

Use Chrome for these instructions. Other browsers may offer similar installation options with different menu labels.

1. Open app.klokku.com in Chrome and sign in or create an account.
2. In Klokku, open your user menu using your avatar and choose Install Klokku. If Chrome offers an installation prompt, choose Install and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. If no installation prompt appears, open Chrome’s three-dot menu beside the address bar. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen, then choose Install when offered. Some Chrome versions group these options under Install and create shortcut.
4. Open Klokku from your home screen or app launcher.

The browser decides when the native install prompt is available. If the in-app menu shows instructions instead, you can still check Chrome’s installation menu.

iPhone and iPad

Use Safari for these instructions. On iPhone, the Install Klokku menu item explains the steps; iOS installation is a manual browser action. On iPad, use Safari’s Share menu directly.

1. Open app.klokku.com in Safari and sign in or create an account.
2. Tap Share, shown as a square with an upward arrow. Depending on your Safari layout, you may need to open the More menu first to find Share.
3. Scroll through the share actions and choose Add to Home Screen.
4. Keep Open as Web App enabled if your iOS version shows this option. Confirm the name Klokku, then tap Add.
5. Open Klokku using its new home-screen icon.

If Add to Home Screen is missing, scroll to Edit Actions in the share sheet and add it.

First launch

You may need to sign in again when you first open the installed app, especially on iOS. Use the same Klokku account to access your existing profiles and data. Adding the app does not create a separate account.

The Install Klokku menu item appears only on Android phones and iPhones, between Integrations and Help & Feedback. It is hidden on desktop systems, tablets, and when you use the installed app in its standalone window.

Updates

When a new version is ready while Klokku is open, the app shows an update notice. Save any unfinished edits, then choose Reload to apply it. Other open Klokku windows wait for you to choose Reload in those windows too.

Choose Later to continue your current session without reloading. The update can be offered again on a later launch, or activate once all Klokku windows are closed. You do not need to remove and reinstall the app for normal updates.

Troubleshooting

There is no install option

• Open Klokku in a regular browser tab rather than a private or incognito tab.
• If you followed a link inside a chat, email, or social app, use its Open in browser action or copy the address into Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS.
• Check whether Klokku is already installed by looking for its app icon.
• Update your browser and check its installation menu again.
• If installation remains unavailable, use app.klokku.com in your browser.

The icon opens a normal browser tab

You may have added a shortcut rather than installed the web app. On Android, look for Install rather than Create shortcut when the browser offers a choice. On iOS, add Klokku from Safari and keep Open as Web App enabled if shown. Remove the shortcut and repeat the steps above.

Klokku cannot connect

Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, then choose Retry connection. When the connection returns in an already-open app, Klokku lets you continue without reloading your unfinished edits. If your session expired while disconnected, Klokku shows Sign in to continue. Sign in with the same account in that window, then choose Continue after signing in to return to your unfinished edits. If the connection is working but Klokku still cannot load, try opening app.klokku.com in your browser to check whether the service is available.
